Frederic S. Almy,DVM, MS, DACVP
Vice President of Clinical Pathology
Frederic (Tripp) Almy joined Zomedica in August of 2023 to lead the Clinical Pathology department in support of the TruView automated digital microscope.
Prior to joining Zomedica, Dr. Almy was most recently a senior toxicological clinical pathologist and the Director of Digital Clinical Pathology and Artificial Intelligence for Clinical Pathology at Charles River Laboratories. Preceding his time at Charles River, Dr. Almy was Scientific Director and Head of Clinical Pathology at Janssen Pharmaceuticals (JNJ).
Before making the switch to toxicological pathology, Dr. Almy was an Associate Professor and Chief of the Clinical Pathology Service, Residency Coordinator, and Director of the Cytology and Hematology Immunophenotyping Laboratory at the College of Veterinary Medicine at The University of Georgia.
Prior to that, he was an Assistant Professor and Chief of Service at the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Almy also has reference laboratory experience as a staff clinical pathologist and Hematology Section Chief for Idexx Veterinary Services’ California lab.
Dr. Almy holds a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the The University of Georgia and a Master of Science in Comparative Pathology from the University of California, Davis. Dr. Almy is ACVP board- certified in clinical pathology. He lives with his wife and their son and daughter on a working farm in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia
